The Club’s U20 Women were crowned Scottish Indoor League champions at Glasgow’s Emirates Commonwealth Indoor Arena on Sunday.
This is another great achievement for this team, who have previously won the Scottish Indoor League title at U13, U15 and U17, before taking this year’s U20 title at the first time of asking, with a team which included four 16 year olds.
The team’s results were: Rachel Robertson – Long Jump – 1st (5.32m), 200m – 2nd (26.8s), Ellen Kristoffersen – High Jump – 1st (1.60m), Erin Feeley – Shot Putt – 1st (8.52m), 60m Hurdles – 3rd, Sarah Szymanski – Triple Jump – 1st (8.80m), 60m – 5th (9.34s), Amy Frankland – 800m – 1st (2:32.1), and Sophie Elder – 1st – 400m.
Four of the team (Sarah Szymanski, Sophie Elder, Ellen Kristoffersen and Rachel Robertson) also competed in the 4 x 200m Relay competition, where they finished second to add another silver medal to their tally.
The club also had an U20 men’s team (Charlie Carstairs, Sean Hadden, Jordan Charters and Elson Musenga) who finished second in their heat of the 4 x 200m Relay, and an U13 Boys’ team (Murray Blair, Brodie McQuorquodale, Connor McCabe and Guy McGarry ) who finished 4th in their heat.
