A good set of performances by Lasswade Athletes at the annual Pitreavie Trophy meeting and sets them up nicely for this weekend’s Club Camps. Thanks to Gordon Robertson for compiling the results which are also available via the Pitreavie Web page.
Andy Sobik and his team have retained their place in Division 1 of the Scottish Athletic League after a well earned 5th place finish on Saturday 27th August at Grangemouth Stadium. A happy team along with our hard working officials. Well done everyone and thanks for representing LAC.

Scottish 4 x 100m Relay Age Group Championships – Grangemouth Stadium
The club had four teams in the Scottish 4 x 100m Relay Age Group Championships at Grangemouth today, and all teams represented their club well.
The U13 Boys’ team (Alastair Scott, Dexter Howard, Harry Officer & David Malloy) finished 3rd in their heat, qualifying for the final where they finished 7th. This was a good achievement from the young team who are all still eligible for the U13 age group next season.
The U15 Boys’ team (Adam Leighton, Jamie Kinghorn, Angus Cousin & Josh Howard) were 2nd in their heat and 4th in the final, while the U15 Girls’ (Mia Downie, Michelle Blaikie, Kirsty MacEwan & Stephanie Ogg) finished sixth in their heat.
Our U17 Women’s team (Shona Gristwood, Bryony Patterson, Rachel Elder & Georgia Jones) had some changeover issues, and unfortunately never finished their heat.
This is the most teams we have had in the relay championships for a number of years, so well done to all who took part and hopefully we can have as many – if not more – teams in next year’s championships.
Scottish Senior 400 m Champion
Greg Louden built on Saturdays heat to win gold in the Men’s 400m and Jordan Charters (now with Sale Harriers ) won bronze in the Men’s long jump.

SUNDAY 11th OF SEPTEMBER 2016
Our Annual Championships are nearly upon us and it is time to send my annual request for help on the day!
There will be a raffle, tombola stall, sale of teas/coffees, filled rolls and home baking. Donations of filled rolls/baking can be brought along on the day and for the raffle and tombola on any training night. All monies made are for the club funds.
Even if your child is not competing we would still very much appreciate donations.
If you are able to help at any point during the day please email Ruth Szymanski at elkasaruma@hotmail.co.uk or text on 07522 279278.
Your generosity is what helps make this day a success so please come along with all the family to watch the Athletes who work so hard throughout the year.
Congratulations to all Team Edinburgh Athletes , team managers, officials ,helpers and parents and coaches
Once again they have had a very successful 2016 and after an exciting match down at York University yesterday the team, which included a large number of Lasswade competitors, finished 7 points ahead of Team Glasgow yesterday, securing victory on the day and winning the league title.
This has been a real team effort with a substantial number of athletes being used in one or more of the matches.
That just leaves the small matter of the national finals on the first weekend in September in Bedford to look forward to
