Only two Lasswade athletes as far as I can see from the results
Both Ben Mitchell and Linden Nicholson acquitted themselves well with Ben finishing a credible 72nd overall and 15th in his age Group. Linden had another strong performance finishing 46th overall and 2 nd in her age group.

Two silvers and three bronze medals for Lasswade athletes this afternoon. Two silvers for Lauren Dickson in the U 17 , 800 & 1500. Rachel Robertson in the women’s long jump and Robert Ferguson in the men’s High jump. Bryony Patterson got bronze in the U17 Triple Jump
Final places for Ailsa Innes 5th in the 800 and Cameron Steven 6th in the men’s 800
PBs for Jamie English in the Long Jump and equalled in the High Jump. Good results after long injury.

Ruth Szymanski is STILL looking for some volunteers to assist prepare after race buffet for the Lasswade Road Race on Sunday 6 March 2016. Required from around 1000- 1500 hrs. While she is happy to see returning faces she is also after some NEW volunteers.

For anyone looking for another cross country race prior to the National Cross Country Championships at Falkirk there is an event in East Lothian on 6th February.
I think it is a fairly new race so not one that I am familiar with however it is good to support these events.

The Inter District Championships were held yesterday at Holyrood Park as part of the Great Edinburgh Cross Country event. There were eight athletes from Lasswade AC representing the East District team. All of the athletes performed well in some cases picking up team medals.
The finishing positions were as follows:
U13 Boys – Harry Henriksen 6th – (Gold Team Medal – East Team 1st)
U13 Girls – Hannah Little 28th
U15 Boys- Magnus Tait 8th (Silver Team Medal – East Team 2nd)
U15 Boys – Euan Hood 18th
u15 Girls – Sarah Tait 5th (Silver Team Medal – East Team 2nd)
U17 Men – Matthew Smith 32nd
U17 Women – Lauren Dickson 5th (Gold Team Medal – East Team 1st)

Lasswade AC are now actively seeking names of young athletes aged 8-11 years to join our next induction group. This 10 week block offers athletes the opportunity to try all athletic disciplines. The courses are due to start Monday 1 February 2016 and Thursday 4 February 2016. Cost : £20 for the course.
