The National Short Course Cross Country Championships took place on Saturday 07 November 2015 at Bellahouston Park in Glasgow.
There were a number of Lasswade athletes competing and we had a some fine performances. The highlights were in the under 15 girls with Sarah Tait winning a silver medal and in the under 17 women Lauren Dickson won a bronze.
Well done and congratulations to both girls on their great performances.
Sunday 1 November 2015 saw Lasswade Athletics host their 34th annual cross country event. More than 350 athletes from the age of 8 to masters donned their spikes to run races ranging 1-6 miles Basking in autumnal sunshine athletes and clubs attended from as far away as Kilmarnock, Fife, Cumbernauld and Lanarkshire and whilst the competition was fierce there was a real festival feel about the event with support from the Esk Valley Rotary Club and catering by Newtongrange Gala Committee
Lasswade were well represented taking prizes in many of races.

A brilliant day against a backdrop of beautiful autumn colours and blue sky.First of all thank you to all our competitors – we hope to see you back next year.
The success of the day is down to the many Lasswade Athletic Club volunteers who work extremely hard to ensure a great day for all. The event organisers say a special thanks.
The National Cross Country Relay Championships took place last weekend at Cumbernauld. Lasswade AC had three young female teams and four young male teams taking part. They all did extremely well.

Preparation work on the course took place today in calm and fairly dry conditions. The autumn colours around the course are splendid and the views over to the Pentland Hills magnificant.
We look forward to welcoming all our competitors next Sunday to an excellent X Country test. Catering, at very reasonable cost (hot drinks , hamburgers etc) will be provided, as usual, by Newtongrange Gala Committee.
Registration is at Gorebridge Leisure Centre but please be aware that building work is taking place at the front of the site. Access to parking is at the side of the building and additional places are available across the road at Arniston Rangers football ground.
All details including maps are on the X Country link.
