And so concludes this weekend’s double header for some with the Central and Southern Scotland Athletics League meeting at Grangemouth.
A tremendous effort from U11s right through to some ageing masters (myself included).
Particular thanks this week must go to Linda Smith and Margaret Benham who have picked up and run with the team in the absence of David Hand, due to his ill health. All at Lasswade AC wish David a speedy recovery.
Thanks again to all the club officials helping out today and to athletes and parents for once again giving of their effort, time and fuel.
If I can source pics from today I will get them up on Facebook.
No more team races for a few weeks but training continues and look out for open graded meetings at Grangemouth, and LIvingston as well as a throws and Jumps event at Meadowmill.

Sunny but windy conditions met our athletes as they participated in Match 2 of the Youth Development League. After struggling to field enough numbers for a team in Match 1, team manager was able to field a significantly stronger pool of athletes.
There are still gaps particularly in the hurdle events so anyone who fancies having a go please LET A COACH KNOW !!

The East District Championships took place over the Friday and Saturday 22&23 May 2015. Lasswade had good representation across most track and field events. Represented in no fewer than 29 Events Athletes medalled in 18 of them. Personal Bests are way too many to mention however there were 8 Gold Medals, 8 Silver Medals and 2 Bronze Medals. Not a bad haul I am sure you will agree !!!
Congratulations to all athletes striving to constantly improve, to Coaches and Parents for seeing the fruits of their labour and finally to all officials particularly those from the Club who have made this a particularly successful event.
