Glasgow Grand Prix – 11 July 2014

Hi Everyone,
The Diamond League event takes place tomorrow and Saturday at Hampden Park, Glasgow.
One of our coaches, Margaret Benham, has two tickets for Friday 11/07 which she can no longer use.
The details of the event are as follows :
  • 15:50 Gates open to spectators
  • 17:30 Athletics start
  • 21:00 Approximate finish time of athletics
I attach a link to the event timetable here
The tickets are for Block C3, row QQ,  seats 64 and 65. I appreciate that it is very short notice but if you can make it and would like the tickets then they are FREE! However, you will need to arrange to collect them.
First come first served.

Greg Louden

It was great to see Greg Louden training at Dalkeith Campus last night. Greg who has been selected to compete in the Scottish 4x400m team at the commonwealth games was more than happy to have a photograph taken with some of the younger Lasswade AC athletes.

Scottish Schools Track & Field Championships

The Scottish Schools Track and Field Championships took place on Friday 20th and Saturday 21st June 2014 at Hampden Park in Glasgow. This was a great opportunity for young athletes to compete on the new track prior to the Commonwealth Games and Diamond League events taking place later next month.

There were sixteen athletes from Lasswade AC competing over the two days. There were a number of fine performances with many athletes setting personal bests and three of our athletes winning medals. For full results please click here

  • Rachel Robertson (Girls A)  – Long Jump 1st, Triple Jump 2nd and 200m 2nd
  • Amy Frankland (Girls A) – 3000m 2nd
  • Lauren Dickson (Girls C) – 1500m 1st

Queen’s Baton Relay

Congratulations to all the Lasswade AC athletes and coaches who had the honour of carrying the Queen’s Baton through Midlothian today, 16 June 2014.  It was a fantastic day and the girls all thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was wonderful to see the club so well represented at this event. It was also great to see so many people (Lasswade coaches, officials, athletes,  parents, family and friends) out on the course supporting the girls. Thanks to everyone for their support and helping to make this such a memorable day.

Breaking News ! Greg Louden

The Scottish Men’s 4 x 400m team, which includes Lasswade AC athlete Greg Louden, have made the qualifying time for the Commonwealth Games. The team competing in Namur, Belgium recorded an unconfirmed time of 3.06.5.

Congratulations to all the athletes and coaches involved with the team.

East District Track and Field Championships – Pitreavie 23 & 24 May 2014

The East District Track and Field Championships took place this weekend at Pitreavie over Friday night and Saturday. There were a number of  athletes from Lasswade AC competing with some fine performances. Well done to all those who took part and congratulations to all of the winners and medalists from Lasswade AC.

Hooded Tops and Tee Shirts

Hi All,

I have just taken over ordering hooded tops and Tee Shirts, I received a bag of tops on monday night from Heather Fleming who previously did this job, please see below i have listed  names that i have hooded tops and tee shirts for, come and see me after i have collected all the subs, My name is John Brash, i usualy collect the subs at the track gates.

I will also have a new form if anyone wishes to order hooded tops or tee shirts.
