Danny Burnett steps down as Club Development Officer handing the role over to Brian Hood.
The club would like to take the opportunity to thank Danny for all his efforts and his contribution to making Lasswade such a vibrant and successful team.
Brian, a former police officer from Peebles took up post on Monday 22 September. On starting the role Brian said ” It’s a real privilege to be working with such a great club. The whole set up is well organised and part of my role is to maintain that high standard. To do that though, we need members, parents and grandparents to give up some time to help coaches and team managers. In the coming weeks I will be asking what help they need and then asking – who can help ? “

Club Champs Help Needed
Hi All we need people to help us run the Club Championships Sunday 21st September at Meadow bank Stadium.
Don’t worry you will be with UK graded Officials, you would be working with a team you may be asked to rack a sand pit in the long jump collect a javelin or help on the track judge stand taking athlete numbers as they pass the finish.
This day is all about your children having a great day, this is why we need your help, there will be food for all officials and helpers.
Meeting starts at 10am if you could be at the stadium for around 9.30/9.45 so you can find out which team you are in
If you can help please contact Dave McConnell you can see him on any Monday or Thursday at training,or you can email Dave on
dmc7544@yahoo.co.uk
We also require any adults who maybe can do some home baking or filled rolls these all go for sale on the day, we also have a Tombola and a Raffle donated prizes are all ways welcomed no matter what we make on the day all monies go back into the club

The Scottish Track and Field Age Group Championships took place at Aberdeen this weekend. It was a very successful weekend for the Lasswade AC athletes that decided to make the trip north.
On Saturday in the under 17 boys 800m Cameron Steven ran very well in the final to finish second and win a silver medal (see photo below). Matthew Smith also U17 ran in the 1500m, however running with a sore calf calf he missed out on the final.
On Sunday there were a number of successes with Lauren Dickson taking 2nd place and silver medal in the under 15 girls 1500m. There were also silver medals for Amy Frankland in the U20 women’s 5000m and Callum Clark in the U20 men’s 5000m.
Rachel Robertson had a very busy day finishing 1st in the U20 Women’s Long Jump, 2nd in the 200m and also 2nd in the triple jump, not a bad days work!
In the U20 Men’s High Jump Robert Ferguson was the gold medal winner as was Jordan Charters in the U20 Men’s Long Jump. Jamie Laird also made the trip north to compete in both the 100m and 200m, unfortunately Jamie pulled his hamstring in 100m so could take no further part in the competition.
Congratulations to all the medallist’s and well done to everyone who took part.
