Good luck and best wishes to our club athletes Guy Learmonth (800m), and Greg Louden (4 x 400m Relay) as they start their Commonwealth Games experience with the Scottish team at tonight’s Opening Ceremony at Celtic Park, before competing in their events at Hampden Park next week.
Also to Dave Finlayson, Kenny Marshall, Melissa Robertson and Ruth Szymanski who will all be officiating at the Games at Hampden Park.
Just a reminder that there is no group on the 3rd and 10th of July. The group will be back on Thursday 17th July.
Thanks, Susie
It was great to see Greg Louden training at Dalkeith Campus last night. Greg who has been selected to compete in the Scottish 4x400m team at the commonwealth games was more than happy to have a photograph taken with some of the younger Lasswade AC athletes.
Thanks Greg and the best of luck to you and the rest of the team from all of us at Lasswade AC.
The Scottish Schools Track and Field Championships took place on Friday 20th and Saturday 21st June 2014 at Hampden Park in Glasgow. This was a great opportunity for young athletes to compete on the new track prior to the Commonwealth Games and Diamond League events taking place later next month.
There were sixteen athletes from Lasswade AC competing over the two days. There were a number of fine performances with many athletes setting personal bests and three of our athletes winning medals. For full results please click here
Picture above shows Rachel receiving one of her medals.
Well done to all of our athletes and congratulations to the medalists.
Congratulations to all the Lasswade AC athletes and coaches who had the honour of carrying the Queen’s Baton through Midlothian today, 16 June 2014. It was a fantastic day and the girls all thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was wonderful to see the club so well represented at this event. It was also great to see so many people (Lasswade coaches, officials, athletes, parents, family and friends) out on the course supporting the girls. Thanks to everyone for their support and helping to make this such a memorable day.
Pictured above from left to right our baton carriers are:
Amy Frankland, Erin Feely, Sophie Miller, Linda Smith (Coach) and Sabina Jedrzejczyk.
Well done girls!!
David Hand sent Guy Learmonth a note of congratulations on his recent 800m performance and new personal best of 1.46.85. I attach a copy of the reply from Guy.
