Good if you can operate a strimmer or are useful with branch loppers. Equipment supplied – bring boots and gloves.

Note For all endurance athletes
As many of you will already know the endurance group train at King George V Park in Bonnyrigg over the winter. Our first training session in Bonnyrigg is this week 10 October 2013 from 7.00pm to 8.30pm.
Please meet at the Pavilion where there are changing facilities.

Please note – existing groups finish December 2013. New groups will start mid January 2014. The demand for these groups has been high and we are now operating a waiting list.
As from Monday the 7th October we will again have the hall from 7pm until 9pm, All please report to the cafe area inside the school to meet up with your coaches and also to pay your £2 subs.
On a Thursday Night training again we have the hall, from 6pm until 7pm the hall will be for keira Murray’s Induction Group.
Then from 7pm to 9pm the hall will be for all other athletes, again please meet at the cafe area inside the school to meet your coaches and to pay your £2 subs.
The cross country group please see Linda Smith about when and where you will be for training on a thursday night.

This event took place last Saturday in Houston, Renfrewshire in what turned out to be a beautiful summers day. The course is a hilly 2.7 miles and Lasswade AC entered a Male and Female team.
The men got off to great start with one of our new members Peter Avent on the lead leg finishing 5th in a very swift time of 13.52 to hand over to another one of our newer athletes Rowan Marr. Rowan one of our under 20’s ran a strong leg to keep us inside the top 10 in 8th position with a time of 15.02. Taking over from Rowan was John Murray who ran a solid leg in a time of 15.17, John was in 11th place when he handed over to Ross Henderson for the glory leg! Ross another one of our younger athletes who has just moved up to under 20 age group this season ran a strong leg, running on his own for most of the way to finish 12th in a time of 15.58.
The women also got off to a great start with Amy Frankland, another of our under 20 athletes, running strongly to finish 6th in a time of 16.31 to hand over to Keira Murray. Keira must have ran one of the fastest legs of the day for the ladies with a very quick time of 15.18 bringing us up to 2nd place! All set for an exciting last leg with 2nd and 3rd place taking off virtually neck and neck , our final runner was Debra Murray who ran a strong leg to finish in 5th position in a time of 17.57.
Great to see the younger athletes in these teams .
