East District Championships

Some good performances and a collection of medals for the club’s athletes at the East District Championships held at Meadowbank on Friday and Saturday.

Athletes’ results are listed below: 

Senior Men

Greg Louden – 1st – 400m (48.13s), 3rd – 200m (22.15s)

Charlie Carstairs – 4th in heat – 200m (23.45s)

U20 Men

Jordon Charters – 2nd – Long Jump (6.37m)

Charlie Carstairs – 2nd – 400m (51.37s)

U20 Women

Sophie Elder – 1st – 400m (61.81s)

U18 Women

Rachel Robertson – 1st – Long Jump (5.63m)

Ellen Kristoffersen – 2nd – High Jump (1.60m) 3rd – Long Jump (5.17m)

Amy Frankland – 4th – 1500m (5:08.41) 

U16 Boys

Henry Clarkson – 1st – Triple Jump (11.45m), 2nd – Long Jump (5.34m)

Cameron Steven – 4th – 800m (2:11.38), 4th – Javelin (24.09m)

U16 Girls

Imogen Wilson -1st – 300m (43.75s)

Lisa Robertson – 5th – Long Jump (4.40m)

Kirsty Robertson – 6th – 80m Hurdles (15.56s), 6th in heat – 200m (31.64s), 6th – Shot Putt (6.80m), 6th – High Jump (1.35m), 4th – Discus (16.67m)

U14 Girls

Lauren Dickson – 6th – 1500m (5:12.40)

Sarah Robertson – 5th- 75m Hurdles (15.18s), 7th – High Jump (1.25m), 5th – Shot Putt (6.19m), 8th in heat – 200m (33.31s)

Prizewinners 2012/13

At the annual General Meeting on 02 April 2013 a number of prizes were awarded to athletes, coaches and officials from within the club.  As well as prizes being awarded for athletic performance these prizes are there to recognise athletes who consistently compete for the club at a variety of different events throughout the year .  A very well deserved award was made to John Gillespie for for all of the hard work that he has done and continues to do for the club.

National Road Relay Championships

The National Road Relay Championships took place on 31/03/2013.  David Hand was in attendance to see fine performances by the men’s and women’s teams who both finished in eighth position overall in their respective races. SIAB Schools International – 23 March 2013

The SIAB Schools international took place last weekend in Dinefwr Park, Llandeilo, Wales and Amy Frankland from Lasswade AC was selected for the Scottish team.

Amy ran very well to finish second scot and fourth overall in the schools race.

Tonight’s AGM – Cancelled

Due to the bad weather we have taken the decision to cancel the AGM which was due to take place tonight and re-schedule for Tuesday 2nd April at the same time and location.

No doubt the weather conditions will improve now that the meeting has been cancelled! However we felt that it was prudent to make this decision given the forecast for the next 24 hours and the distances that some people will have to travel.

Many thanks for your understanding and I look forward to seeing everyone on 2nd April.
