Sunday’s Weather
Sunday’s weather Update
The weather for Sunday at the Club Champs is to be dry cloudy with some sun, The temp is only going to be in the 50s so bring some warm clothing
Urgent Plea/Reminder – Club Championships – Sunday 25 September 2011 – Meadowbank
As you are all aware the Club Championships are on this coming Sunday.
To date very few donations have been handed in for the tombola/raffle and this is an urgent plea/request for items. Please bring your donations along to either training on Thursday or on Sunday.
Donations are also required of filled rolls, home baking etc that can be sold on the day. Tea, coffee, juice, crisps and sweets will also be available for sale.
Filled rolls and home baking etc should be brought along on the morning of the competition.
All monies made will be go straight back to the club to help pay for travel expenses etc.

MIDLOTHIAN SPORTS AWARDS 2011
Congratulations to Dave McConnell who has been recognised for his long commitment to sport and Lasswade Athletics Club in particular. Dave will receive his award for Service to Local Sport at a ceremony which will be held in Midlothian House on 7th October. Well done Dave from all Club members.
National Junior League Final – Derby – Sunday 11 September 2011
A number of the club’s young athletes travelled to Derby at the weekend to represent Team Edinburgh in the National Junior League Final. For a lot of them this has been their first season in the National Junior League, competing in matches at Preston, Scotstoun, Manchester and Gateshead during the season as Team Edinburgh qualified for the finals.
In Sunday’s final, Team Edinburgh finished in sixth place.
The club’s athletes results are below:
Greg Louden – 400m A – 2nd (48.19s), 200m A – 4th (22.12s), 4 x 400m relay – 2nd (3:20.67)
Ross Matheson – 1500m A – 2nd (3:57.78), 4 x 400m relay – 2nd (3:20.67)
Robert Ferguson – High Jump B – 3rd (1.85m), Javelin A – 8th (29.31m)
Lesley Campbell – 200m A – 7th (26.92s), 4 x 100m Relay – 6th (50.54s)
Sophie Elder – 400m B – 5th (61.07s), 4 x 400m Relay – 4th (3:58.37)
Ellen Kristoffersen – High Jump A – 2nd (1.60m), Pole Vault A – 8th (2.60m)
Rachel Robertson – Long Jump A – 6th (4.81m)
Katherine Szymanski – Triple Jump A – 8th (9.89m), Javelin B – 7th (19.16m)
Erin Feeley – Hammer A – 8th (19.21m), Discus B – 5th (23.68m), Shot Putt B – 8th (8.16m)
