Injuries — that’s the main story of this year’s indoor relay championships!
After two weeks of chopping and changing the teams due to call offs, mainly because of injury, we had four teams selected up until Friday night, when we had to cancel the U15 Boys’ team. Then, on the day of the championships, Ellen injured her hamstring during the warm up, meaning the U15 Girls’ team had to withdraw as well.
The two teams left(U13 Boys and U13 Girls) competed well, with the boys finishing 4th in their heat. The girls went one better, finishing 3rd, despite Rebecca having to incorporate a bit of hurdling into the race to avoid another athlete lying in her lane!
The athletes all competed well, gained good experience and enjoyed the day, especially those taking part in the Hide and Seek Warm Down!
Four athletes from the club competed at the Scottish Senior Indoor Championships on Saturday.Guy Learmonth won the Men’s 800m final, with Ross Finlayson also qualifying for the final and finishing fifth.
In the 400m event, Greg Louden won his heat, and finished fifth in the final, while Dean Philip was fourth in his heat.
